AYUSH polyclinic opened by New Delhi Municipal Council

The first integrated medical system AYUSH Polyclinic was opened on Friday with treatment facilities of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sidha and Homeopathy under one roof in New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

The Polyclinic which is first of its kind in the entire Delhi, was thrown open at the Inoculation Centre, Mandir Marg in New Delhi Area. Minister of State at the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh, while inaugurating the Polyclinic said that the ancient system of medicine like Ayurveda is much more relevant in today’s world. The integrated medical system consisting of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sidha, Homeopathy and Naturopathy are based on scientific experiments, references and research data. This integrated medical system be opted for treatment by the patients as both modern and ancient medical systems are supplement to each other.

The yoga and allopathic treatments may go simultaneously for the treatment of lifestyle diseases and yoga practice help to reduce the allopathic medicinal doses. Yoga works on the level of one’s body, mind, emotions and energy. The Minister added, "NDMC had provided a platform to AYUSH Ministry, Government of India by setting up of AYUSH Polyclinic for popularising the integrated medical system among the public at large in the Lutyens Delhi. A sustained publicity campaign should be organised on regular basis by the NDMC in collaboration with the AYUSH Ministry in different localities of New Delhi and other parts of the Capital to spread awareness about the integrated medical system."

Ministry of AYUSH secretary Ajit Mohan Saran assured the NDMC all help and support for the smooth functioning of the AYUSH Polyclinic. He said that if NDMC opens an AYUSH hospital, the Ministry will consider to attach the same with the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Sarita Vihar, Delhi.
